So you know the whole war thing going on right? Yeah been affected by it because im ukrainian. We are now in finland, its pretty good here tbh but also it is a bit scary being so far away from home, and in a country where half of the people speak a language you cannot understand.

We have been quite busy here, a lot of stuff that has to be taken care of. Doesnt help that we live kinda far from the actual city and dont have any car or at least a bike so we have to get there on foot, around 1 km if i remember right.


Due to all this stuff progress on "the cool red game with skulls" has slowed down to a crawl. Ive been slowly chipping away at it for the past few weeks.

Biggest issue i ran into is that i kinda realised the game was quite monotonous and could get stale very fast so i had to restructure it a bunch and deal with all the issues that that brought in, if im honest im not sure if the game is even enjoyable to play, but hopefully itll at least not be a stale mess.


Previously you had the option to fight a miniboss instead of an arena for a load of cash, now these are mandatory and happen every 2 arenas because i realised that there wasnt actually much reason to fight them considering arenas already gave you basically the same amount of money. Arenas have also been somewhat shortened.

I have recolored everything so things dont look as samey, previously the palette was basically just 2 grays and 2 reds. Now i expanded it a bit and enjoy the look of the game much more, it should also hopefully help with visual clarity as now bullets are differently colored than enemies.

Currently i have been slowly adding "disasters" (that are definetly not stolen from streets of rogue) that act as various modifiers to arenas which should hopefully make it all a tiny bit less stale. At the momment of writing i got 4 out of around 11 total planned, though that number is very likely to change.

I am still alive.

I am still working on that one game i teased god knows how long ago.

Progress is going very slowly.

I dont record many videos, usually only to show off some stuff to friends, but since i made those two i decided to post them. I might try recording more and being a bit more active about the development but i cannot promise anything.


I will not say any date for the game to come out on, cuz i have no idea myself.


Im also occasionally testing out prototypes for smaller stuff that i might make into full games after i finish this one, though no promises.

So like yeah progress is incredibly slow because i decided to start learning Godot. I made stuff in game maker before but godot is way more complicated so i basically have to learn it from 0. Though i think i am getting some moderate success with a small-ish project that i currently have. All i have is very much placeholders and nothing else so all of this stuff will probably change but i thought that it would be nice to show what i have. Will try my best to be a bit more active in terms of this stuff (no promises though).

Just wanted to say that not much in terms of gamedev related stuff is going to get here any time soon, i currently dont have any project i am working on. I am learning to work in godot which will take a lot of time to do. I cant promise much more than occasional art on here for now. Have a good day!

Im still thinking about how skeletons and skulls randomly blew the fuck up, and i got like 50 followers from it somehow. Actually still ocasionally get a comment notification once in a while but its mostly calmed down at this point.


Anyway, i am currently working on a new project (which is small so it will be playable here) but recently a lot of stuff is going on in the real world with me, mostly a lack of motivation and high stress. Basically i just wanted to say that, dont worry, games are gonna happen, im just slow as hell.


Also tone down any expectations, i have no idea why everybody liked skeletons and skulls so much which means i dont know how to replicate it, which in turn means that the next project may not be as good as you may want.


I know its likely nobody will see this cuz i have no idea how this blog stuff works but hey, its at least worth a shot. Anyway, have a good day.
